A new semester has startet and it will be a very exciting one for our group. The most important event will be the upcoming Batizado for Grupo União na Capoeira here in Bergen.
Also, training has startet and updated information can be found on the link on the right. Tuesday and Wednesday will be in USF room at verftet. The USF room is on the 2. floor.
There will be a training especially aimed for beginners Wednesday the 1.st of September and we hope to se a lot of new people!

Sunday 6th. of June our group had a show in Nygårdsparken, during Parkdagen. This is an annually show and a good way to promote Capoeira and present our group. The weather was great and we all had a good time, some of us even got a little bit of tan during the day.
Also, we had our last training before the summer the following Tuesday, at Verftet, finishing with a bath.
We like to thank our members and everyone else for a great year so far, and it will be even better after summer with the upcoming Batizado here in Bergen.

Today, all members of the group met for the yearly meeting. New board members were elected, so first and foremost we would like to welcome Kirsten, Lisa, Andreas and Linn Therese. Furthermore we would like to thank Skjalg, Halldis and Helene for a wonderfull job and – we’re most thankfull. Afterwards, a Batizado group was established, ensuring all of us an event we’ll never forget.
Since the weather was so beautiful, and we are afterall capoeiraistas, our fingers itches for some capoeira-related action. We then went down to the vitalitetssenteret for a wonderfull music session in the sun.
Afterwards we went back to Joachim’s place to got some pizza, saw the DVD from the batizado 2009 that Mauricio created and started warming up the party that end up at the disco (which name I can’t write down due my bad both memory and norwegian).

The Grupo União na Capoeira have 3 main events during the year that take place in different places in Norway.
First is the spring roda then the summer camp and finally the Batizado.
This year the spring roda took place at Bærum from the 25th to the 26th of April.
We had the great opportunity to attend classes and share good moments with Mestre Bira (from Brasilia), Mestre Berimbao, Contra Metre Luciano, Mestre Benivaldo and of course Mestre Maclau.

We are so glad to announce that one of our members has become a dad.

Workshop Mestre Maclau
The dancing, the technic, the music, hard and interesting exercises and much more things came to Bergen.
Mestre Maclau visited us in Bergen and We have a really good time with him. It was amazing to get to know much of the theory and tradition behind our own group and who better that Mestre Maclau for that.

Mestre Bilu
From the 8th to the 15th of January Mestre Bilu, from Brasilia (Brazil) was visiting us in Bergen. He tougth us a lot of interesting things in Capoeira. During this week we practiced a lot of base, “cadera”,Martelo, “Bênção“, Gancho and many other interesting movements that will help us to improve our technique.
We want to say thank you to Mestre Bilu and we hope he return to Bergen soon.
